Why Pray
In 1
Thes. 5:17 the Apostle advises every believer to do something
"Pray without ceasing". It means a believer should spend much
time in prayer or in other words he should be a "Man of
prayer". Why should a believer pray without ceasing?
Because the bible advises us that we are living in evil days.
Ephes. 5:16 clearly warns us this Truth. "Redeeming the time,
because the days are evil".
Yes
my dearly beloved let us obey the word. Let us understand what
God desires that we understand. The days are evil and
therefore we should not waste our time. We are expected to
Redeem the Time. Redeeming the Time means "Making the best
possible use of the time available at our disposal".
But
today many believers have time for everything except Prayer.
When we ask them how much of time you spend in prayer? they
just give vague answers. Only the faithful few spend time in
prayer. Many give numerous reasons like I have to send my
children to school, I have to go to office which is a long way
of, I have to do this work etc., etc.,
The
reason for taking prayer lightly is due to a lack of clear
understanding about the Power of Prayer. Any believer who
clearly understands the power of prayer and what it can do in
their lives, will go all out to spend time in prayer.
Dearly beloved it is time that we understood the importance of
